Each counselor at the MNU Student Counseling Center is licensed or supervised by licensed clinicians.  Our goal is to provide a place where students can free work through the issues of their lives.

Elizabeth has been the director of this program since August 2015 and is a licensed clinical social worker. She came from Children’s Mercy Hospital where she worked exclusively with Hematology/Oncology families.

She believes that MNU is the best place to build the foundation for your life. This includes the many layers of mind, body and soul. Her goal is to provide quality resources for the MNU student through this program.

Elizabeth is married with two adult daughters.

PhD: Amridge University in Marriage and Family Therapy
Master’s degrees: MNU in counseling and NTS in Christian Education

Phil brings many years of excellent experience to his role as Lead Counselor. He has a gift and a heart for the emotional and mental wellbeing of MNU students. He works across all populations on the MNU campus and brings strong support to the interns as they prepare for their career.

Phil is married with two adult children.

Larissa brings experience from her years at MNU as a resident advisor, student and leader on campus. After MNU her work has included therapeutic services for residential teens, and individual group and family therapy. She is especially interested in international and first-generation students.

Larissa is married with two children.

Alyssa Meehan

BA: Park University, Clinical and Abnormal Psychology

Alyssa enjoys working in the college setting with both individuals and groups.
She also has an interest in the process of wholeness in the midst of trauma and organizational studies.

Alyssa is married with a one-year old son.

BA: Washburn University, Topeka, KS

 

Rachel enjoys working youth within her church, softball, running and staying fit.  She served in the United States Air Guard. Her goal is to help people make long-term life improvements.

Rachel lives in the Kansas City area.

Bobby is an advocate and believer in the power of counseling. He enjoys working with the student population. His goal is to assist students toward positive development in their lives through the counseling process.

Bobby is newly married.

Charles works with Freedom Fire Urban Ministries as a staff member and youth leader.  He helps mentor at-risk youth in the KC inner city.

Charles is married and lives in the Kansas City area.
